Setting The Benchmark.

Our History

Our history dates back to 1924 when FORDS was founded by two young and entrepreneurial brothers.

The company was initially involved in the UK dairy industry, but it was the development of a crimp sealing machine for returnable milk bottles that triggered its growth from a local player to a worldwide household name.

Our machines became essential to the production of milk in the UK during the Second World War, and in the post-war period the company was able to enhance its technology and broaden its reach as economic growth took off and consumer goods industries boomed.

With the development of plastics technology, the original crimp-sealed foils evolved into heat-sealed foil closures, opening doors to new markets and cutting-edge applications such as aseptic filling.

For a century, FORDS has worked in partnership with brand owners, packaging manufacturers and filling machine builders, and is proud to be part of an industry delivering innovative solutions all around the world.
